What is the best way to make money on Twitter ?
Well, I am not really sure. Yet…
Earlier today I signed up for the two newest make money with Twitter sites:
Ad.ly and Sponsored Tweets
Ad.ly is a new service that places in stream ads in your Twitter posts. They match publishers with advertisers and will send one ad tweet every other day. As a publisher you get to approve the ad campaign before it goes live and you can also set your own price. When I signed up, they suggested a price of $36 a campaign per week. The next step is to sit back and relax and wait for publishers to contact me.
Sponsored Tweets is very similiar to ad.ly but the major difference is that you get payed per tweet not by campaign. They also suggest a price to charge per Tweet, they suggested that I charge $3.69 per tweet. I would love to see that happen!! They also encouraged me to “sit back and wait for the offers to roll by.”
So that is exactly what I will do, I will see what happens with these two services.
I will write a follow up post in exactly 30 days and let you know if I made any money and if I did, which service I made more with.
Is anyone using these services yet?
I have always thought Magpie and Ad.Ly too intrusive by giving you virtually no control over what gets tweeted and you get really small payouts.
I have used SponsoredTweets for 2 months now, and this month I earned $12 from 6 tweets, not bad considering I only have 2500+ followers, I have heard people in upwards of 20k followers can earn 20+ per tweet, and the biggies can earn a hundred dollars a tweet or more.

I signed up for sponsoredtweets and I will also see what happens.
I am curious, is there any ordinary people really making money using twitter? I mean without having to spend 8 or 10 hours a day logged in. Whenever I log in, I am so overwhelmed with the people I am following that seem to spend their lives tweeting and re-tweeting that I just end up reading very few of the tweets, if any at all.

I have 14 Twitter accounts each one a dedicated niche, some of my blog posts syndicate to Twitter accounts using bit.ly, does this mean that Sponsored Links puts links within the blog posts? They are not clear about how this program works but I am going to try it.

This post actually lures me to sign up for it. I am not doing it with full understanding but still would be surprised to get something in return.

I’m going to give Ad.ly a trial run myself, I’ve had great success with Magpie and usually get around 30euros a month from it, which isn’t bad, SponsoredTweets I’ve only ever had one tweet!

Someone could really get rich if they set up some services for REGULAR people. Sponsored Tweets Marketleverage FAIL because they suck up to well known people failing to realize that ONE the well known people are plaid out and two we are the next well known people
The top 5 well known bloggers that everyone sweats are out of gas LOL
and we are just starting

I joined and ran ads and then said even though I like Ted Murphy but he has companies that stack the deck and not in Regular people’s favor. Our turn is coming sooner then we think

I guess it all depends on the keywords which we type in, SponsoredTweets suggested for me an ad price of 7$ per Tweet for 6.000 followers, not sure if this is ok… as you can’t see what other members offer as ad price, i lowered it to the half but no luck since the last two days since sign up

That’s right, Twitter is a great way to promote a website or to make some money. But I think there are another one important thing, which is you can build trust.

I think it’s better to promote affiliate products directly instead of earning pennies from sponsored tweets.

I think it is more beneficial to attempt to network with people in your industry/your targeted audience. If you can push your message to them you will have a greater chance of making more money.

I think both can be helpful to your company. Twitter is by far the most practical and useful social networking site for promoting your business.

Wow, it’s pretty rare to see someone put things into perspective the way you just did. I wish that other bloggers and people that post content to the web would take a page from your book! Do you have any other sites that I could visit or could you possibly make a recommendation as to where I might be able to find some more information? Either way, thanks for an excellent resource and I look forward to being a repeat reader!

I just joined Sponsored Tweets I think 3 weeks ago now and have not received nothing from them yet. How long does it usually take to get tweets from them?
