Over the past year, I have written several articles about the importance of branding your blog. One of the biggest ways to create a memorable brand for your blog is through your blog design and logo. Take a second and think about some of the most successful bloggers. Chances are names like ProBlogger and ShoeMoney are floating through your head. One of the reasons you think of them first is because they have done an amazing job of branding themselves and their blogs and they both have awesome logos. We know a professional logo is important for blogging but is essential if you are looking to business on the Internet. In my opinion, a quality website and a quality logo separate the real players from amateurs.
I have actually been thinking a lot about changing up my site and switching up my header and actually getting a more professional looking logo. I actually really like the lettering of my logo but not sure that I am crazy about the “character” anymore. I have been thinking about a new theme as well, I just can’t decide between Thesis and Headway.
Due to the fact that web design and logos were on my mind, it was ironic that I was approached today to write a review for a leading logo design company called LogoBee. Chances are good that you are familiar with this company as they are one of the most visible around the web. One thing that struck me when I visited their site (besides their killer logo designs) was the fact that they have been in business for 10 years and have worked with over 10,000 clients. To me that says a lot. You know they will be around to provide support and have the credibility to stand behind their work.
I must admit that I have not used LogoBee (yet) but I am very impressed with their work. Check out some of these logos:
The Tech Deals logo is my favorite, if you want to see more logo design samples visit their gallery.
Since many people that come through and read my blog are looking for additional ways to make money online, I also wanted to bring up the fact that LogoBee has a great affiliate program that pays out at $20 per transaction. They also provide $20 coupons as well to make it easier to get those affiliate sales. For more info on the affiliate program follow this link —-> LogoBee Affiliate Program
…yes get a logo will make a site or blog look more professional. There is lots of professional logo design on the web today, you can easily find a good one.
My good friend taught me about five important design elements when it comes to brand identities. Iconic logos are:
1. Describable
2. Memorable
3. Effective without colour
4. Scalable i.e. work when just an inch in size
5. Relevant to the industry in question

@William, Awesome info. Thanks for adding to the conversation
You will need a graphics editing package to create your logo. Windows Paint doesn’t count. At the high end, Photoshop is industry standard, but an expensive call for most people. If you’re determined on using Photoshop but can’t afford it, you can often pick up older versions on eBay for around $100. Photoshop CS will still do a fine job vs Photoship CS4 for example, even if it doesn’t have all the latest bells and whistles.

@Mark Downson, good advice on the “used” version of photoshp, have not thought of that before.
Shall have a look at LogBee…I might find something I like…let’s see
I use Xara 3d but LogoBee seems like a great affordable option. Thanks.
I too like the Techdeals best, and I should also work on mine a bit more. Re Thesis vs headway, I’m on thesis and I love it, but HW seems to also have a strong following…
If you go for Thesis, make sure you skin it / customize it, because there are a lot of sites using it with the default design and it’s important for your design to be unique and stand out (to be memorable).

My logos don’t compare to those. They are pimp. Thanks for the affiliate info, I probably should add that to my site.
For my weblog I bought a graphic tablet to draw glowing lines and vector lines but unfortunatly I was not successful in drawing such lines. I am not talented I handling Photoshop so I just use the standard logos form free themes.

It is something I am looking at doing in the future but as I’m still new I am taking the cheaper option of having a friend create them for me.

They have a great portfolio, but I actually think they should redo their own. Seems quite old fashioned.
