I just added a new plugin to my blog today. It is the “no-follow free” plugin, what this does is allow people to add a comment with a link to their site in order to gain a backlink. By default wordpress has a nofollow attribute which tells Google not to use that link as a backlink. When this is turned off, it make your blog “do follow” and makes you popular with SEO experts and other blog owners that are looking to build quality links for their blogs. Some people complain that this adds spam to their blog, I do not see it that way, because you can simply unapprove the comment. Furthermore, people have smartened up and they know that if they want to get their comments approved then they have to write a good comment that adds to the discussion. I have used this successfully on my other blogs and have seen a nice surge in traffic. If you are keeping count, this is the second plugin that I installed. I wanted to make my blog do follow as early as possible so that I can spread the word in the SEO community and start improving my traffic now.
Remember how I told you guys that I own several web directories, including
SubmitMyBlog.com , well I also recently started a Do Follow Blog Directory . So if your blog is do follow or you make it do follow, make sure you add it to my directory. I am getting a lot of traffic there because people are searching hard for do follow blogs.
Great info, and congrats on choosing do follow. Doo you happen to have a link for the plugin?

[...] “do follow” If you are not sure what do follow is, here is a link to an earlier post http://tycoonblogger.com/2009/03/19/uncategorized/tycoon-blogger-joins-the-do-follow-movement For example, Delicious is not “do follow” and I do not bother with them. My time is [...]
Its amazing, a lot of people are already a part of this “u comment i follow” movement. im glad i am! Do follow makes people feel more appreciated when the post comment on your blog. As long as you are the decider for which comment is true and have value to your blog, you are safe with Google.

I agree with you that the “dofollow” practice is generally a good idea, I have my blogs set up as dofollow and I see it is appreciated. I have nothing against providing someone who wants to add to the value of my site with useful relevant commentary a followed backlink. After all, encouraging with reward is works. Oh, and your comments are actually nofollow at this moment.. accidental??
AdminDaily’s last blog post..“nofollow” or not to “nofollow” that is the question

dofollow has many benefits indeed. It will allow you to “socialize” and have friendly conversation with your visitors. Of course spam will always be there so maintaining spam free blog will require you to check and manually remove spam comments.
Just my $.2. Thank you.

Dofollows are the future of the internetz. Everyone knows with web 2.0 the internet is going to become nothing but “a series of tubes” so having a dofollow blogs will help that transition. Viva dofollow!

I am all about the dofollow. I have the enabled on all my sites. Its a win win…people get links for participating, and I get alot more readers. And I still rank 2nd for my targeted keywords in the Search engines so I really see no downfall!
