Today marks the one month anniversary of my adventure as the Tycoon Blogger. This is the perfect time to look back and also give you some updates to let you know how things are going. The first thing you probably noticed is that I changed the theme. I shook loose and decided it was time for a custom paid premium theme. I looked high and low for a month for the perfect theme for this site and I really like the simple and clean design. As of today, I am officially hooked up with adsense and will be starting my quest for the big money. You will also notice that I have some 125 x 125 ads running as well. Those are some of my other sites, so if you are interested there are 6 spots available.
Here is a recap of month one:
Visitors- 486 (I added analytics 2 weeks ago)
Revenue- $0
Alexa- 3,233,332
Backlinks-42
I have been working on promoting this blog by doing a little bit each day. I am in this for the long haul and in my opinion it is wise to build links at a natural steady pace as opposed to all at once. This month I also had an opportunity to guest post on the “Idiot’s Guide to Blogging” sit and this will surely help my traffic and of course help my brand. I will be writing an article on guest blogging soon, so stay tuned for that. My plans for this coming month are to continue to add quality content daily. I will also continue to add this site to high ranking blog directories. I will also start building links via submissions to social bookmarking sites, this is an area that I have neglected so far. I will also continue to grow my network @tycoonbuilder on Twitter. Another part of my strategy is to start selling some of my other blogs so I can focus more of my energy on this one. I actually just put my health blog up for auction on SitePoint, it is my goal to get down to 5 blogs in the next couple of months so I can better manage my load.
I appreciate you taking the time to read about my blog and I hope you have learned some things over the first month. As you can see from the above stats, I am not here to BS anybody, starting a blog is hard work and the money just doesn’t fall from the sky. It is important to have realistic expectations when starting off as a blogger. In fact, over 90% of new bloggers quit before the first month. My guess is that they do not see the immediate pay off and then move on to something else.
If you follow me on Twitter, I will follow you! @tycoonblogger

Hi,
Very nice post.Congratulation,It is great that you have got lot in one month.
Thanks for sharing.
Looks like you’ve been hard at work! Very nice job. I would suggest continuing to work on customizing the theme you have here into a more unique style. Branding is important for a ‘tycoon.’
Keep up the good work!
