The Best Twitter Tool Just Got Better

It seems like over the last couple of months there has been a fierce battle for supremacy in the twitter client app arena.  The two dominant players are Tweetdeck and Hootsuite.  I personally prefer Hootsuite and felt like they were pulling ahead of Tweetdeck as the Twitter tool of choice for bloggers and businesses.  When I checked my inbox this morning and read about the new changes that they have implemented, I believe they are the clear cut winner at this point.

Let me start by saying that Tweetdeck and Hootsuite are very similar.  In fact the key differentiate as far as I see is the fact that one is web based and the one is not.  That is why even small changes that improve efficiency and communications and service can be what pushes one app over the other.  In some cases, Hootsuite is catching up with Tweetdeck and in other areas they are bringing something new to the table.

What’s new?

  • Filter by Influence – In an effort to appeal to business, Hootsuite offers the option to filter your followers based on their Klout score.  By analazying the influence of followers this way, business can maximize their social marketing campaigns.
  • Filter by Keywords – I really like this option where you can search by keyword.  This is huge for businesses to make it easy for them to track their brand as well as their competition.
  • Follower Insights – This may be the most powerful of the changes that Hootsuite has made.  This allows the user to access information about their follower’s other social accounts.
  • Organization View – This is the ultimate team collaboration tool.  This tool makes it very easy to view your team members across networks as well as add new team members to your view.
  • Zendesk support- The integration with Zendesk will improve efficiencies and quality in customer service.

    I haven’t really tried to maximize my twitter account because I am tied up with my Facebook account. But I will try and check all these tools showing to maximize my twitter account. Thanks for sharing. You really got it. kudos!
