I finally added the blog engage plugin to my blog.  I have been talking about it for months and finally got around to doing it.  Guess what..it took less than 30 seconds, not sure why I waited so long.

What is Blog Engage?

Many serious bloggers already know all about Blog Engage and several famous bloggers like Extreme John and Hesham are big fans.  The leader in the Rookie Blogger contest, Gautam from Blog Godown is a proponent as well.  Blog Engage can best be described as a blog community where bloggers submit the links to their blog posts and other bloggers vote them up or down.  The top vote getters are pushed to the front page.  This community is similar to Mixx or Digg but better in the sense that you actually have a chance to get to the front and see a real traffic benefit form it.  I can go on and on about the benefits of using Blog Engage (I will write a separate post about that later on) but today I wanted to let you know about a very cool initiative that Brian (owner of BE) is rolling out.  Brian is offering to share his adsense earnings 50-50 with his members.  Pretty cool huh! That is not even the best part, you can bump your percentage to 75% just by putting a badge on your site and 100% for doing that and writing a post in your blog.

    I believe blog engage offers bloggers a way to increase their knowledge and minimum standards when it comes to blogging within ones niche. And blog Engage offers quality back links to your blog from a PR5 Do Follow Social Community

    This sounds like a really good idea to add a bit more action to my blog comments. I am trying to think of ways for people to contribute more.

    How come I can’t see the buttons next to the comments? Have you removed the plugin?

    I am definitely going to be posting articles to BE especially now that I am seeing some of my favorite bloggers doing the same. It might have been EJ or DiTesco that turned me on to it but I plan to being a regular on there.

    I actually came across BlogEngage, well Brian, for the first time on the Elegant Themes support forum. Brian has done a great job with the site and it is certainly helping bloggers connect.

    I saw my first BlogEngage button on Karen’s site Blazing Minds, so I signed up to vote for her. I didn’t participate though, because I was a bit confused about what BlogEngage is all about. I read @DiTesco’s latest blog post about it today and realized what a wonderful community and tool it is, so now I plan to participate much more often.

    Great! I’m about to do both (add the button and a post) things you have just done. I think that being an BE has a good potential to “stand out” and a much greater chance to be pushed on the front page.

    @Klaus- I think you will find you will get much more traffic from this button than with Digg or any other social bookmarking. I will also be willing to bet if you installed the vote button you would not be at 0…The more serious bloggers that join this community the better off we will all be.

    Hmm, I guess it’s a question about time until I will HAVE to check out Blog Engage – I keep seeing it on more and more blogs. I just think I have plenty of crap on my site already so if I add another blog for people to vote on, I’m just going to confuse everybody :D

    Besides, it doesn’t look good when all posts have a “0″ next to them…

    I like Blog Engage because it has been source of comments. I have increased traffic due to this and i expect to gain more in the coming weeks.

    I found out about BE from ExtremeJohn’s site but it’s really cool that the community is using the great service brian/BE is providing. My site/blog is very new but I’m hoping to get some exposure through BlogEngage soon too.

    @Brian- I am very impressed at what you have been able to accomplish so far with Blog Engage. I see a very bright future for you and your site. I think more and more bloggers are starting to realize that as your site grows, their blog will grow as well.

    Hey Dan I was really surprised when you added the image! I’m going to edit your blogengage account and boost your adsense earnings to 100% It’s my way of saying thanks for being such a great frie4nd and blogengage member.

    I know your busy with your career and real life. This is why I knew you would do it I just didn’t know when. We got some authority bloggers using blogengage things are really looking up.
