We all know that social networking is here to stay and that it is vital for success as a blogger. In this post I want to highlight the best established and start up communities that are exclusively for bloggers. These blog communities provide a lot of benefits for bloggers like : traffic, links, visibility to increase your branding and the opportunity to interact with people who share your passion.

Blog Engage – I wanted to start with Blog Engage simply for the fact that it is currently my favorite blogging social community. Over the last 6 months or so, Blog Engage has emerged as a major force in the blog-o-sphere. They continue to add new features like the recent addition the blogging club. You can submit your recent posts and if the community votes you up you will find yourself on the front page with the benefit of a do follow link and a nice flow of traffic. This is not the biggest blog community but it is the tightest and friendliest I have come across.

MMO Social Network – This is a brand new blogging community that caters to blogs in the blogging and mmo niche. I just joined and I am excited about becoming active within this community. This community is similar to Blog Engage in that you can submit your articles and add a vote button to your blog. It you get enough votes you will get to page one with a do follow link as well. This site also gives you the ability to add friends and network with those that are serious about making money online.

Bloghology – This social networking site has a lot of potential but not sure if many people know about it yet. The best way I can describe it is by saying it is like Facebook for Bloggers.

Entrecard – Although Entrecard primarily functions as an ad network for bloggers, there is certainly a social networking component to the site. I will not get into all the particular about Entrecard as most people already know about them and if not you can read this post:
Top reasons to promote your blog with Entrecard

Blog Catalog – Blog Catalog is the biggest and most recognized social community for bloggers and is one of the those sites that most bloggers try out when they first start out and then move on. Don’t get me wrong you can get some traffic from BC but it take a lot of effort. I guess it is like anything else, the more you put into it the more you will get out.
These are the 5 blogging communities that I am currently a part of. Which ones are you involved with?
Which one do you like best?
If you would like to connect on any of these networks, send me an invite. My username is tycoon blogger on all of them.
Thank you Dan for your great support, it’s an honer to be listed here!

Great post, thanks for a list of communities to try out.
I currently use Blog Engage and MMO Social Network.
I have seen a lot of traffic on Blog Engage, not so much on MMO. But I am new to MMO and haven’t really figured the system out yet. Look forward to learning and using this system. I also plan to join Mixx.

Blog Engage is the best! I just signed up for Hesham’s MMO too (I believe in supporting my local bloggerhood and I read his blog(s) so…)
After signing up I was disappointed that there isn’t a simple plugin to add the vote button, hopefully that is in the works though…

Social networking has been around us for quite a long time and now there is a change in the trends. Global recession is what people point out as a reason that is degrading the popularity of the social networks. The real fact is that social networking is headed towards a different path.

Among all the social networking site that you listed above, I like BlogEngage. I’ve been using it for quite some times and I found it really useful. It’s a dofollow social networking site and it does bring me some referral traffic when I submitted my blog post over there.
MMO Social Network is a new social networking site from Hesham, he notified me about that in email before. I’m going to take a look on that.

You have to get a firewall program and block the websites. Try Zone Alarm it is easiest one I can think of to setup.

Well as for best mobile social networks or chat, that is somewhat personal preverence but a lot of companies are in this space now that are somewhat larger…..

I would suggest asking your prospective users. Ask them what they want or need and can’t find anywhere else. This will almost guarantee an audience because they are the ones that know.

A very good post. Thanks for the information. I should start have accounts and be an active member of these sites for better visibility. Do post these kinda of articles and lists. It seems to be very useful.

I was on IgoUgo for a while, but then I noticed that whenever I wanted to travel anywhere I couldn’t find any useful information on my destination aside from hotel advertisements or simple descriptions that really aren’t useful at all. So I stopped going there and don’t recommend it.
