Yet another tip to promote your blog

Last month I wrote a post called easy ways to promote your blog in the real world and I discussed 4 simple ways to increase the exposure of your blog’s brand.  Had I known about this tip at the time I certainly would of included it in that post but since I just discovered this cool idea, I felt compelled to write another  promote your blog blog post.

Have you heard about the site called, I wear your shirt ?  It is such a awesome idea, I am pissed that I did not think of it first.  The basic idea is that you buy a day and two dudes where your t-shirt for that day and promote your site.  The trick of it, and really the reason why this is very effective form of advertising and branding is because they integrate this with various social media methods.    These guys are huge on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter and of course they have their own blog where your brand will get promoted on.  Many of the campaigns they have done have gone viral.  I know a lot of bloggers are not willing (or able) to spend a several hundred dollars on an advertising campaign.  If you are a blogger who understands the value of strategic marketing you may want to consider this.  If you are not looking to advertise you should at least check out the site and watch some videos, these guys are hilarious.

BTW, this was NOT a paid post…just thought it was a novel blog promotion technique that I wanted to pass along…

What do you guys think, would you invest in this for your blog?

You can use twitter to promote your blog. Instead of telling your Twitter audience that you’ve published a new post, ask them their opinion on the core topic you’ve covered. “Do you think banner ads are dead?” followed by a link to your site is much more appealing than posting to Twitter, “Banner Ads Are Not Dead.” Asking a question engages your Twitter followers and solicits their experience and this thus increases the blog traffic.

“”This is a fantastic way to promote a website or blog. I have found that simply printing t shirts and hiring people to walk around large cities all day and interact with people on a positive note is also a great form of advertising.”"

Liked it ….nice idea to promote anything using this kind of marketing

Be the first commenter on the posts of popular blogs. But still provide value.Stumble and Digg cool blog posts you find and let the blogger know via a comment. If you have something worthy on your blog, they’ll probably reciprocate. Use google.com/blogsearch to find fresh blog posts and then leave intelligent comments.

That is a brilliant idea! It reminds of about 10 years ago when somebody auctioned off tatooing a company name on their forehead on eBay! It got so much media attention that it was totally worth it to the sponsor. I wish I could remember more details of it! Anyway, thanks for sharing this site!

To increase traffic I genuinely believe that the comments section of my blog is better than anything I write on my own. To that end, when a topic seems to take off, I send a note to Twitter alerting people to the quality of the conversation in the comments. It’s not pitchy in nature. I’m simply sharing that the best stuff came after the initial post.

You can even use twitter for promoting blogs. I’ll tell you how.
Some people just dump their blog posts into Twitter automatically, with a simple “New Blog Post: Money is Better Than Dirt” and away you go. I’ve found a way of using Twitter to encourage participation on my website, and it’s better than easy; it’s tasteful.

This is a really intersting idea. But I think your right that not all bloggers can spend so much on a technique whose results are uncertain.

That is why so many people rely on less expensive alternatives. These are often time consuming and ineffective so rather than wasting money you are wasting time.

Unified Social Media offers a new service that allows bloggers to connect with each other in a social network, and display links to their friends content on related pages.

When you sign up, links to your content will automatically be displayed to intersted readers on your friends blogs. It is a free, easy and effective way to generate traffic and build a loyar readership. Try it our at http://www.unifiedsocialmedia.com.

It is pretty nice idea to promote the web source with the help of common shirts. I have never met something similar in my city. Maybe I’ll try this action to promote my blog for instance.

Sounds like I have a business idea to steal more than a new way to promote my site. Paid to wear t-shirts? I could probably handle that.

  16. Nisheth 13. May, 2010 at 8:35 am #

Well to advertise means to exert an effort to be known. Apparently, not all have the money to have the paid advertisement. So, I guess this means just being resourceful enough and I like the idea of having your shirt as a medium of communication for other people to read. Added to that is the social networking sites that have been very famous these days and that these are absolutely free. Thanks for the post!

I never heard of the website called “I wear your tshirt.” Sounds interesting though, I want to check it out. No one wants to pay lots of money in advertising so everyone’s learning what to do to cut cost.

It is a very clever and unique way to advertise, remember when advertising anywhere that you have to think about ROI, and unless you can convert those extra visits and interest into sales, just getting “visibility” won’t be a good ROI.
