We Follow- Twitter Directory

I wrote about a cool Twitter app yesterday and I wanted to let you all know about the coolest Twitter directory.  Today I added my twitter profile to the We Follow directory.  If you have not heard of the We Follow directory yet, it is a Twitter directory created by Kevin Rose, the founder of Digg.  The directory basically is a list of the top the top Twitter users based on category.  It is super easy to get listed in the directory.  All you have to do is tweet this : @wefollow #yourtag #yourtag #yourtag .  Your tags will be the categories that you would like to be added in.  I used this @wefollow#blog #blogging “#directory.  I did not add my listing under blogger because there are already close to 10,000,000 people in that category.  I wanted to join some categories where I had a chance to be seen in the search results.  With that being said, I am happy that I am on the front page out of 126,000 for the directory category.

I have used the strategy of joining some big categories and then a smaller one to be a big fish in a small pond.  You will have to devise your own strategy to get the most out of this tool.  I plan to use this tool in conjunction with the FriendorFollow tool I blogged about yesterday.  I plan on following 25 people per day from each category.  At the end of the week I will have over 300 new people that I am following.  I am hoping that a good majority will follow back.  I will be very interested to figure out the percentage.  I will then use the FriendorFollow tool to see who followed me back and who didn’t.  I will then stop following those people. I will continue with this plan and add it to my daily tasks as I am sure I will gain a bunch of new followers.  Of course I will let you know how it goes so stay tuned…
