Top 10 Free Blog Directories

I wrote a similar article last month but so much has changed that I felt compelled to write an updated list.  I was working on submitting my Green Jobs blog to free blog directories yesterday and the top 10 list that I use changed dramatically.  I am eliminating 5 directories and adding 5 new ones.  Here are the ones I am taking off the list and the reason why:

  • LSBlogs- too junky, could not find the submit button in the first 2 minutes. I still can not find it.
  • BlogRoll- website is gone.
  • WeBlogALot- changed into a pinging service.
  • BlogHints- They have over 12,000 blogs pending review.  Obviously, this is no longer being maintained.  Do not waste your time.
  • Blog-Directory.org- Bad quality.  Out of the 10 latest entries, 8 were foreign or adult sites.

Here is the new and improved “Top 10 Free Blog Directories” list:

  1. BlogHop
  2. BlogTopList
  3. BlogFluence
  4. BlogExplosion
  5. BlogAdr
  6. BlogPulse
  7. Bloggernitty
  8. BlogListing.net
  9. Blogs-Collection
  10. ShoutYourSite

My blog directory, Submit My Blog did not make the top 10 list because it is too new and has a PR0 at this time.  It has become obvious to me that I will have to keep an eye on these blog directories and update this list often.  Take a minute and grab my RSS feed to stay updated on the latest changes.

    @Hectic- I am glad you found my blog too. I am new on v7n. I usually am on DP and Bloggeries.

    @blaggers- Blogtoplist is my fav too, I am getting decent traffic from Bloggernity too.

    Submissions to directories is an under-utilized tool in publicizing a website or blog. Sadly, one has to try dozens of bad directories before finding one that delivers what it promises.

    I am looking forward to exploring the directories you have suggested. They look promising.

    Nice to see you updating this list… Just bookmarked it, I hope you will keep it up-to-date. I’ve seen many posts like this, but many of them are just Google’s top queries for blog directories.

    Hey just a small advice. I think its better if you linked the actual blog directories. Its easier for lazy people like me lol.

    Other than that, it looks like a good list. I will be looking to submit my blog.

    good to get a list of quality.
    As a challenge i tried to find the submit button on LSblogs.. success! you go here:
    lsblogs.com/add_url.php?c=447

    You have to search for a category first and then an “Add your URL” The URL above might only submit to one category.. so search for where you want to go first.

    It is a bit clunky..
