Promote your blog with rsshugger

Promote your blog with rsshugger

There must be hundreds of ways to promote your blog.  Well, you can now add one more to the list.  I was surfing the web today and came across a pretty cool site that has a lot of potential for bloggers.  We all know that submitting your blog to blog directories is a great way to build backlinks and maybe get a bit of traffic as well.  The site I am referring to is rsshugger.com and it is a directory of rss feeds.  They are trying to become the leading rss directory and they are of to a good start with close to 5,000 feeds already.

I signed up for an account today and got a response back that my blog will be reviewed in a couple od days for inclusion.  To me, this is a great sign as it tells me that someone is actually reviewing the blogs and making sure that only quality is getting through.  I really like the idea of this site as I think it could serve as a nice medium for bloggers and blog readers to fnd each othere.  Even if this site does not generate tons of traffic initially, at least I will be getting quality backlinks which is always good for SEO.  Here are the advantages that are cited in the about section of the website:

  • Raise awareness of your blog
  • Send tons of visitors to your blog
  • Share traffic with the community
  • Be part of a viral/buzz marketing campaign
  • Build deep-links for your blog posts to help with search engine optimization
  • Get new interested RSS subscribers who view your content on a regular basis.
  • It seems like a cool site and a real quick and easy way to promote my blog.

In case you are wondering, it is free to submit your feed but the catch is that you have to write a blog post about the site.  If you do not want to blog about it, you can pay $20 instead.  You can obviously see which option I chose.

This is the only rss feed directory I have heard of and I am wondering if there are other good ones out there.  Do you know of any others that I should check out?

Very cool idea. I just need to get a blog up and running before you start. I have heard that a blog is really good for your business so I could do with one.

    6. RSS feeds help as much as directory submissions for backlinks, but to be honest I’ve never seen much(any?) traffic from them!

Nice find! I like the directories that actually review the content being submitted to their directories, cuts down on some of the junk.

Hi there. I am very sorry but I have accidentally included FeedsFarm.com on the list. Please disregard this as I have just checked it and it is reporting to be an attack site. Sorry and you can delete the comment if you want. I apologize for this

    10. DiTesco says:

      Here are some other RSS Directories. Feedest.com, Blogoculars.com, 2RSS.com, FeedsFarm.com, RssFeeds.com.

Now as far as RSSHugger is concern, I have to admit that I never heard of it before. Thanks for sharing this tip. At this time, and since I have already submitted my feed to all the above, I guess I’ll pass this one. Nevertheless, it will be added on my list of “future to do’s”:)

This is a great way to promote a blog, not only because you get your feed out there, but also, if you include links in your feed, you’ll be gaining a lot of backlinks.

And I also have to write a review for the site? No, I don’t like to promote something I’ve never been allowed to try.

Seems to me that I will break the trend by saying I’ve never heard about the service before. All of the links seems to be dofollow, so if it’s free it’s a simple service to get a few backlinks.

Would be interesting to hear how much traffic you get from it, later on.

I have heard of RSSHugger as well, but never checked them out as they sounded like they just worked with RSS feeds. Please update us on how it works… as I like to hear what kind of success someone has before I spend the time trying something that might not work. I hope it does, as I love to find new ways to generate more traffic. Thanks Dan!
