There must be hundreds of ways to promote your blog. Well, you can now add one more to the list. I was surfing the web today and came across a pretty cool site that has a lot of potential for bloggers. We all know that submitting your blog to blog directories is a great way to build backlinks and maybe get a bit of traffic as well. The site I am referring to is rsshugger.com and it is a directory of rss feeds. They are trying to become the leading rss directory and they are of to a good start with close to 5,000 feeds already.
I signed up for an account today and got a response back that my blog will be reviewed in a couple od days for inclusion. To me, this is a great sign as it tells me that someone is actually reviewing the blogs and making sure that only quality is getting through. I really like the idea of this site as I think it could serve as a nice medium for bloggers and blog readers to fnd each othere. Even if this site does not generate tons of traffic initially, at least I will be getting quality backlinks which is always good for SEO. Here are the advantages that are cited in the about section of the website:
It seems like a cool site and a real quick and easy way to promote my blog.
In case you are wondering, it is free to submit your feed but the catch is that you have to write a blog post about the site. If you do not want to blog about it, you can pay $20 instead. You can obviously see which option I chose.
This is the only rss feed directory I have heard of and I am wondering if there are other good ones out there. Do you know of any others that I should check out?
It’s certainly worth a try, and sounds like a great idea. There’s the potential for traffic with only the effort of signing up for it and writing a post about it. Thanks for the tip!

I have heard of RSSHugger as well, but never checked them out as they sounded like they just worked with RSS feeds. Please update us on how it works… as I like to hear what kind of success someone has before I spend the time trying something that might not work. I hope it does, as I love to find new ways to generate more traffic. Thanks Dan!

Seems to me that I will break the trend by saying I’ve never heard about the service before. All of the links seems to be dofollow, so if it’s free it’s a simple service to get a few backlinks.
Would be interesting to hear how much traffic you get from it, later on.

“On behalf of rssHugger and the rssHugger team, we would like to thank you for purchasing ducedo.com.”
And I also have to write a review for the site? No, I don’t like to promote something I’ve never been allowed to try.

This is a great way to promote a blog, not only because you get your feed out there, but also, if you include links in your feed, you’ll be gaining a lot of backlinks.

Just dropping by to let you know that your site has been approved.

Here are some other RSS Directories. Feedest.com, Blogoculars.com, 2RSS.com, FeedsFarm.com, RssFeeds.com.
Now as far as RSSHugger is concern, I have to admit that I never heard of it before. Thanks for sharing this tip. At this time, and since I have already submitted my feed to all the above, I guess I’ll pass this one. Nevertheless, it will be added on my list of “future to do’s”:)

Hi there. I am very sorry but I have accidentally included FeedsFarm.com on the list. Please disregard this as I have just checked it and it is reporting to be an attack site. Sorry and you can delete the comment if you want. I apologize for this

Nice find! I like the directories that actually review the content being submitted to their directories, cuts down on some of the junk.
Heading over there now.

I’ll not join it right now but rather wait for a next post from you to see what is your opinion about RSS HUNGER after some weeks.
What I mean is that, it will be good to let us know how it improved your SERP or even traffic.
But it seem like a promising directory.

RSS feeds help as much as directory submissions for backlinks, but to be honest I’ve never seen much(any?) traffic from them!
