I visit hundreds of blogs a week and I have noticed the Blogupp widget is gaining traction. I remember learning about this about 8 months ago but I think it is just now reaching critical mass.
What is Blogupp?
Blogupp is a way for bloggers to promote their blog and content on other blogs. It is much different than other exchange networks like EntreCard and Adgitize. The major difference is that you do not have to do a thing. It is the lazy man’s answer to blog promotion. The set up is simple; you just go to their site and enter your URL. Then you copy the generated code and add it to your blog. It could not be easier. The widget that you add will display a thumbnail image and content from a rss feed from other blogs. Your blog will be displayed on other blogs 9 times for every 10 blogs that are displayed on yours. The one extra slot is reserved for Blogupp ads. The cool thing about this service is that the blogs that your blog is displayed on are all similar; therefore it is useful for getting in front of your target audience.
Well, I decided to try this out and see if it is worth the space on my blog. I added the widget to my lower right hand corner if you want to check it out. I will give this a 30 day trial and examine my stats closely to see what kind of impact if any this service provides.

Sometimes I respond to comments, but this year it really hasn’t been very often, but I do try and go to their blog and comment on one of their posts. I very seldom check to see if anyone has responded to any comment I make.

I don’t know how useful blogupp will be in promoting blogs. Anyway I think I’ll join blogupp and put their code on my blog.
