Promoting your blog is always on the mind of bloggers and I am always on the hunt for new way to promote my blog. Most bloggers know about comment luv and keyword luv, but I wanted to spread the word about Blogger Luv.
Blogger Luv is a new collaborative blog started by the one and only John Sullivan. There are a group of 8 bloggers posting their best blogging tips and anything else that is on their minds. Blogger Luv is more than just a blog, it is a movement and a mindset. A couple of weeks ago I wrote about the blogging revolution that is happening around us right now and John, through this blog, is the leading the charge. Blogger Luv is about a community of bloggers that take pride and great joy in helping other bloggers achieve. John is one of the most generous bloggers around and is great at helping other bloggers that he likes promote their blog. If you are in with Sully, you are good.
Blogger Luv is less than a month old but they are already making some changes to ensure success. Listen up because this new change will help every single blogger that is reading this. In an effort to spread the LUV, John is allowing every blogger in the world to submit an excerpt of their best blog post of the week and he will post in the front page, complete with Do Follow links. This is an awesome way to get exposure as well as some quality backlinks.
Blogger Luv also just started a blogger forum for the community to interact and share best practices and information. There is a thread going on right now about good blogs to comment on. Why not stop by and add yours to the mix.
[stextbox id="info"]Have you checked out Blogger Luv yet[/stextbox]
wow, that is strange. i just got a 404 error as well. I would be very surprised because I know how much work John put into the site…plus, he could of sold it if he was no longer interested in running it. I will ask him on Twitter and see if I can find out what is happening.
Hey Dan,
I've just been doing the rounds and reading people's posts about Blogger Luv. It's great to see such positive messages here there and everywhere, it certainly makes it easier to become a member when other people have given such good feedback about the community.
Warmest regards,
Karl

Sounds very interesting, going to look into this for my blogs.
I did not know about the blogger luv before, their blog community is really very nice. I will be visiting their community frequently.

Hi Dan,
I’ve just come over from reading your 30 in 30 post on blogger luv. Therefore, as promised, I’ve installed a brand new feed reader on my phone and added this blog to it.
Day 1 of the challenge. Can I make contact with you as suggested? Should be an interesting 30 days
@Eleanor Edwards, Very cool! Nice to meet you..this is pretty cool when something works like planned. I will be stopping by your site soon to check it out.
This looks interesting. I will sign up for the forum to see whether I get more traffic. I am always looking for ways to improve my blog.

I have read a lots of tips online that include commenting on other blogs, and leaving a link. Is this standard?
I just noticed that you stopped using Digg to promote your blog.
Please allow me to be the first to congratulate you.
I have found Digg to be the least helpful support group on the net. They will allow a Microsoft article detailing a product, and then ban someone who even posts an article having no commercial value on a blog “sponsored” by a small commercial shop like ToysPeriod.
I wrote several articles for the ToysPeriod blog that were given great reviews.
However, when someone picked them up for Digg, the Digg support crew immediately banned the posters.
So we are on the same page there.
Digg is mean and inconsistent in its policies. Microsoft can make billions, but try to help a small shop make a few pennies and the Digg people are all over it.
I do hope that Digg pays the price for the poor support group policies at some point. However, hard to see how they can lose money supporting Microsoft so aggressively, and crushing the small guy so avidly.

I am noticing that those who have a greater number of comments on this site get a backlink and those who don’t don’t.
Is there a magic number of comments that triggers the do follow feature?
Or am I off base here.
At any rate, I am impressed with what you are doing. Anything that can reduce the “dog eat dog” feeling one gets in some blogging neighborhoods, is certainly welcome.
I will be looking to be accepted by this group, and will consider it a privilege if and when that happens.
Beth
@Beth Charette@legosets, I recently changed my do follow policy to kick in after the third comment. This has helped avoid the drive by commentators and has brought a tighter community feeling around my blog.

Thanks for the heads up on the blogger luv. I was just at Sullys blog checking out his latest rant. hes quite a gifted writer and one who shoots straight from the hip.
I have to agree, this is so interesting. I will check that out and hopefully I’ll be able to promote my blog.

I’ve heard about BloggerLuv weeks ago but never taking a look on that. I’ve just given it a visit, seems like a great community. Thanks for telling us about that Dan!
Cheers,
Lee
Blogger Luv is a great concept. This is much needed, especially as I read last week that blogging is on the way out with only something like 6% of American teenagers interested. This could go someway to relight the blogging fire.
Nice post. Thanks very much. I’ll check Blogger luv immediately

This is an interesting experiment in building a blog. I’m really curious to see how the blog develops over time using this method, particularly traffic, and types of posts displayed over time.
