Improve Alexa Ranking – with a little help from your friends

Every blogger I know wants to improve Alexa ranking, even the bloggers that say it doesn’t matter want to get a lower ranking.  Last month I wrote a post titled How to improve your Alexa Ranking and I highlighted 5 easy things you can do right now that will make a major impact on your Alexa rating.  I was reading one of my favorite blogs over the weekend and noticed that Extreme John wrote a great post about Alexa ranking as well.  In fact, he mentioned a great tip that I never even considered.  Next time you are on Alexa.com and look up your site you will notice that you can actually leave a comment and add a rating.  Apparently, if you receive a lot of comments and 5 star ratings this will help increase your Alexa rankings.

Here is where we can work together and help each other.  I am sure you all know the concept of “scratch my back” and I came up with a simple idea of exchanging comments and ratings.  So go ahead and search tycoonblogger.com on Alexa and leave me a 5 star rating and a comment.  If you do that just let me know by commenting under this post and I will return the favor.

If you are really in a helpful mood, you may also want to install the Alexa toolbar and visit me often ;-)

    I think Alexa Rankings are something you should consider in the grand scheme of promoting and optimizing your site. Ultimately, your position in something like Google will more greatly help increase the visitors to your site than some number Alexa comes up with. This is not to say that you should not try to get a better ranking, but rather you should make Alexa improvement a part of your general promotion strategy and not focus too much on it.

    Most people think that increased alexa rankings is a measure of success in one’s blog. But the truth is it’s not. The best measure if you’re a successful blogger is if your blog stayed long enough and if your keywords are ranking high on Google SERPS

    I have also wrote a blog post on how to improve alexa rank. My blog alexa rank is now good than before.

    Download and install the alexa toolbar and make your blog as home page is main work for increase alexa rank.

    I know Alexa is importent, but how reliably is it. I mean traffic wise and backlinks?

    ALexa say that your blog alexa rank will increase how many alexa toolbar installed people visit your blog. I think PR does not matter on alexa rank.

    Good thing there’s friends who can help. Numbers are important most especially when it signifies ranking. Somehow, it gives you the idea how good or bad your site is as well as the content.

    Alexa ranking is different. As people would be the judge as to how good or bad your site is. I think this ranking is much better than the others because it is a through reviews you would know your status.

    I like the way Alexa ranking goes. It is the people who judge according to the content and there’s this rating to be given. I don’t know if this is better than the others in knowing the rank of your site but according to the census of respondents, it yields a pretty good result.

    There’s actually a very easy way to artificially inflate your Alexa rank. Since it is based on the number of Alexa users visiting your blog you can install the Alexa tool bar on several PCs and make sure you visit your site daily a couple of times from these computers. If, say, you have one at home, one at the office, and one laptop for travel, that makes three. By my records that is sufficient to hover around the magic top 100K, and occasionally, dip into it.

    Will it really improve your ranking. I don’t know. AS far as I know Alexa ranking is primarily on traffic.

    Perhaps what we should do is go to everyone else’s blog and add a rating to their Alexa profile as well That will make it interesting.

    What do you think? It might take some effort, but then all good things take effort.

    BTW I have commented and rated your blog. Would you do likewise.
