If you are part of EntreCard I am sure you know that they paid ads started running yesterday. If you do not know what EntreCard is, take a look at the links below this post and read the related posts to get an understanding about what EntreCard is all about. I have a lot of random thoughts that I want to get out, so bare with me as this post may be a bit scatter brained. First off, this company has the absolute worst communication I have ever seen. The bloggers are the backbone of the company and they are treating us like dog crap. I logged into my dashboard and have 41 paid ads waiting for me to approve and 0 ads form other bloggers on the network. What a pain in the ass it is to approve 41 ads, come on whohas the time or patience to go through this every day. All of the sudden the entire network changed, it is no longer bloggers helping bloggers, it is EC taking advantage of bloggers for their own advancement. They claim that this will be good for the network of bloggers because they will be able to cash out their EC credits. If this is the case, at least tell us how much they are going to be worth. I have over 42,000 EC credits. This could be worth $5 or $500, I have no idea. If you want people to buy in to the program, you have to let them know what is in it for them. The smart thing to do is give the blogger a piece of the action on the ads that are running on their blogs. Also, it makes absolutely no sense to buy ads for credit from other bloggers because your ad will only be shown a certain percentage of the time. What is the exact percentage, I am not sure, as the information on this is not readily available.
Here is my plan. I will not approve any paid ads (or reject them either.) I will just let them sit in my dashboard and pile up. What if all the bloggers banned together and did not respond to these requests until we received some answers to our questions. We are the ones with the power here, let us not forget this! Please somebodt start a network tat is truly by bloggers for bloggers.
Thanks for reading my rant. I would love to hear your thoughts on this?
I can’t stand the new paid ads system – they even display them on your blog before you choose to accept or reject. I want an option to skip all paid ads until a date of my choosing. I’m so sick of it I even started a campaign against paid ads at ec. check out my blog for the button. Basically there are far better paid ads options, Entrecard need to pay off 225k of credits each night just to control deflation – after that they have about $1k in profit and “Say” they will pay 75% back to over 50,000 users – which is like a few cents each… they suck lol.

May i will approve if there are 2 EC widgets, one for paid ads and the other one just the normal one we used to have before.

The issue is highly discussed and I guess, the same is still to run little more course before one can judge its merit or de-merits. As of now, I am approving the paid ads. and let us see how things turn up.

I have not heard about the 75% payment, is this new. Has anyone else heard about this.
That would make sense and I hope it is true
Look at it this way…they are paying us 75% of all the clicks that go through our site. does this help? plus it puts more randomness on the widget. It could pay-off and possibly better than google. (I’m accepting paid ads)

Hey Tycoon
thanks for the comment.
I think you’re feeling like alot of us today.
why this happened this way; is so typically Entrecard.
no understanding of the acceptance curve;
no consideration of the rights of ownership of the space on the blogs of carders:
totally dissing the bloggers who made it Entrecard in the first place.
I guess this is Welcome to The NeoEntrecard
Have Mercy !
