Last month I wrote an opinion piece on Entrecard as a whole. I am assuming most of you that are reading this know what Entrecard is, if not, look them up. When Entrecard switched to third party advertisers I was very critical and I voiced my opinion on how I thought it was a wrong move and would hurt the network. Since that point I have not spent a single credit buying ads. My rationale is that it was not that effective for me before the switch and after it would be half as effective as before due to the fact that your ad will only be shown half of the time.
This put me in a difficult spot because I am accumulating credits at a rapid pace and I don’t buy advertising and I will not cash them in for the current price of $1. With the rise in popularity of the marketplace, I thought my problem was solved. I could spend my credits on things that would help my blog grow and gain visibility. The first couple of weeks my experiences in the marketplace were positive. I am now going on record as saying the marketplace SUCKS. I am writing this post to simply vent and rant a little bit over my recent experiences. Just this past week, I ordered 18 “services” (diggs) and only 6 of the orders were fulfilled. That means that I paid for 18, the credits were put into escrow, and I only received one third of what I should have. That is very disappointing and not an encouraging sign for the future of the community. Here is the worst part about the whole thing; there is absolutely no way to get your credits back. The system is technically broken and will not allow you to cancel your order or dispute it once it is placed. My numerous emails to support have gone unanswered. Just another example of mismanagement at this company. I hope they wake up soon before they run a good thing into the ground.

The Entrecard marketplace is a bit of a disaster. I spend ages placing order to then cancel 75% of them a couple of weeks later because they’ve not been completed.
I wish they’d add a search function.

@gautam- They must have been listening to you because I just read an email from EC this morning about some major changes. They are only accepting ads from bloggers who are in the ntwork. I think this is a mjor step in the right direction.

I have tried asking for mediation..I have received no response what so ever and my direct messages have been ignored as well.. oh well…
I have heard other similar stories about a long delay before getting payed. I agree, not cool at all. The scary part is that the EC blog has not been updated in almost a month. I wonder what the heck is going on over there..

The thing with the market place is ok. I must admit that when you place an ad in the market place and someone buys it, it does not send you an email. The seller only knows when they go to the market place. Maybe they should change it.
As for your problem, maybe ask for mediation or send the seller a direct message. Let me know if you some right or have other suggestion.

The main problem is that entrecard has lost its popularity and many people have stopped using entrecard. There almost no activity at all. It’s time that entrecard revamps its interface and try to have some new features to attract more people. I still think it is the best way to get quality traffic.
