Do we really need another Twitter follower tool? Well, probably not, but this one is pretty easy to use and works really well. Plus it is free, so I figured I would share it with you guys. The site is called Twitter Follower, and it is owned and managed by the one and only John Chow. John Chow has been able to grow a massive Twitter following and the cool thing about John is when you follow him, he follows back. His new site is based on that principle. He is building a list of Twitter users that automatically follow you back. You register on the site and then you just start following people, simple as that. There are a couple of cool tools that are in place to make sure this will work effectively. First off, if someone does not follow back, you can report them and they will be removed from the list. Additionally, there is a “mass unfollow” button that allows you to unfollow anyone that has not reciprocated.
I think this is a useful tool if you are trying to get you Twitter account off the ground. As John points out, people want to follow people that have a lot of followers. If your follower count is in the single digits, many people will be turned off by that and not follow you. Unlike you rss numbers, you cannot hide your twitter numbers.
The database is pretty small right now, with only 350 members but I am sure it will be growing very rapidly. I joined up with you of my “spare” accounts, so if you are a little wary, I will report back and let you know how it is going.
I am curious, do you use twitter follower tools to increase your following? If so, which service works best for you?
I am still building up my @tycoonblogger account the old fashioned way if you would like to follow me, I will follow back. Just send me a DM to alert me.

I don’t actually use tools to gain followers although I do use some to promote my blogs. As for John Chow, yes he does return the favor by following you, but what is the point of having all these followers if they don’t do anything for you?

Thanks for sharing about this tool Dan! But I think there are many twitter tools out there have the same features. I’m currently using TweetLater, it has more than one features including the follow back function.

Right on Sire! No we don’t need another follow tool…we don’t need any follow tools as the only right way to do it is organically.
My apologies to everyone reading this but John Chow and others like him aren’t gonna buy a damn thing from you…nor will they most likely ever click a single link. lol

@ Dennis, and yet he expects people to buy from him, and why? Because he is John Chow of course. Give me a break.

I dont really see the point in these sort of exchanges, at the end of the day, those who you follow in this this type of exchange program will probably only pay 1% attention to your tweets.

I signed up for a personal Twitter account so I could get the ins and outs of it before I implement it for my business. And coming from a non-commercial perspective, I absolutely hate it when I get a “You are now being followed” by a random commercial entity. Auto following in Twitter, IMO, is quite useless if you don’t have the attention of the people following you. That’s my .02!
