I have done a complete 180 on my thoughts regarding dropping on EntreCard. When I first joined, I thought it was a big waste of time and I never saw the value in it. This past week, I decided to invest some time in working the system and I have been very pleased with the results. After my 7 day experiment, I am a believer that dropping the maximum 300 cards per day can have a major positive impact on your blog. Here are 10 observations that I have made and the reason I recommend dropping 300 per day.
Free links
Many blogs will reward their top droppers with some link love as a token of their appreciation. I am anticipating at least 50 new one way links to come my way at the end of June from dropping everyday on blogs that are known to reward their droppers
Networking
This is a great way to meet new bloggers in your niche. The bloggers that are dedicated to daily dropping are obviously committed to putting in the time to make their blog successful and these are certainly people I want to associate and partner with in the future.
Discover new blogs
I have already discovered dozens of cool blogs and learned quite a bit from my fellow bloggers. An additional benefit is that I was able to find some additional do follow blogs to comment on and several with commentluv and top commentors installed.
Blog contests
I have discovered several new blog contests that I have entered. I love blog contests and this is a great way to find new ones that are giving away cash as well as EC credits.
More traffic
The more drops that you make the greater the likelihood that the person will drop back on you. I have calculated that my return drop rate is around 40%. There is a big debate that the quality of traffic is low. I understand that, but I believe that for my blog (which is about blogging) the traffic is quite targeted as everyone is a blogger and could benefit from my content.
More ads
This has been one of the best changes so far. Before I started dropping 300 daily, the cost to advertise on my blog was 16 credits. Right now it will cost you 384 credits to advertise on my blog. This bump is a direct result of the increased exposure of my blog within the network.
Visibility
From a consistent week of dropping 300 cards, I have jumped up to a ranking of #11 out of 2,303 blogs in the blogging resources category. My card now appears on page 1 when you look to do a campaign in this category.
Alexa boost
My alexa ranking has improved this past week as well. This makes sense as many people drop with the Firefox browser and also have the alexa toolbar installed. Of course, my bounce rate has increased too, but this is a trade of I am willing to make.
Branding
The increase in visibility is helpful to building your blogging brand. This is especially helpful if you have a memorable domain name. One blogger that has been able to brand herself from being a top member of EntreCard is Blog Angel from BlogWithWings.com
Credits
I can’t discount that fact that my credits have obviously increased. Remember that you receive credits for the drops you make as well as the drops that people drop on you.
There you have it, 10 reasons why it makes sense to be a top dropper on EntreCard. For me, I actually enjoy dropping as it helps me unwind and gives me something to do while watching TV. I have also taught my kids how to do it for me (hint! J) and they love it. In fact, they fight over who gets to do it.

I usually drop 100 ec as it takes a lot of time to drop. But by dropping on 100 sites and get almost 50 visitors to my site and this means more exposure and plus my alexa rank has gone up

@gautam- It takes me about 30-40 minutes to drop 300 cards. I use this drop list http://www.ecatf.com/droplists.php which speeds iu up if you use firefox, it loads up 10 blogs at a time.

Hi,
I use to do the daily 300 drops, but my time is so little now that I just drop here and there.
When I use to drop a lot, I saw my alexa rank went through the roof so to say. Now, it’s ok, but not as good.
I have met some lovely people on Entrecard and continue to meet more. I usually go the the market to see what is available.
I have thousands of credits and I applied for cashout, I haven’t cashed out yet as I want to see if there are problems or not. Have you cashed out yet?

hey it takes me two hours do that with the entrecard bar. what is internet speed? i think it is way more than mine that is why it takes you 30-40 minutes

I’m giving Entrecard another try right now. I tried in the past and really didn’t put much effort into it, so of course I didn’t get great results. Now, I’m putting some time in, to see if there is any value.

Entrecard is my major source of traffic. I would prefer search engine traffic, but traffic is traffic. There are a few things that could go wrong with Entrecard.
What I do is, advertise on blogs that have a higher Alexa ranking than mine, more readers than mine and many RSS subscribers.
