Key points helping you to hire a good SEO company

Small business owners, who are planning to take control of their own SEO tasks but failing to achieve desired results, should seek help from an expert SEO company whose services will give your website a professional edge required in today’s cut throat business scenario.

There are many reliable SEO professionals providing effective SEO services. Before hiring any one of them, make sure you do a little bit of homework. Below are the some of the key points that will guide you to find a good SEO company:-

  • Get recommendations from reliable sources- to get genuine sources for selecting a good SEO company, you can ask some of your acquaintances like friends, family or business associates who have already availed SEO services. You can consider the names of such SEO companies, further adding your own research.
  • Online research- this is the best way through which you can get some genuine information about different SEO companies. You will get several options of researching right from the online webmaster forums, communities, etc. You can post your requirements in the form of a post in one of the forums or communities to get instant reply. Even if recommendations are useful, don’t forget to double check them to stay away from con artists. In case if you are skeptical about someone’s credibility, put it under scanner through simple online search and you will get to know everything.
  • Stay away from fake promises- keep away from those guaranteeing to provide the number one position over the online medium. People making such promises are only fooling around with your hope. No SEO company can promise you number 1 rank because they have no special connection with search engine algorithm.
  • Look for examples- before hiring any SEO professional, consider going through their previous accomplishments along with their clientele. If they are not able to produce examples of their past work, it is better to put an end to the discussion.
  • Check their page ranks- SEO professionals having a page rank of at least 4 or 5 can be taken into consideration. If it is below this level, you should probably shift your search somewhere else. Page ranks speaks about the company’s abilities.
  • Check what techniques do they use to optimize a website- website optimization techniques are really important when it comes to having a blemish free online identity. If a SEO company utilizes automated techniques for submission like any Black Hat mechanism, stay put! Such practices can even ban your website from the search engines.
  • Go through their keywords- while going through a SEO company profile, find out the keywords to check for their site ranks. This will at least let you know about their online position.
  • Don’t just rely on their affordable price- A SEO company offering affordable SEO services need not necessarily be a good one. You should talk to them in person about their services, check whether they are only running a company to churn out money or their services are really of any help to the website owners.

There’s blogging, and there’s living!

You’ve been around the block a few times. You know the drill.

You do your thing, write whatever shebang you had planned, hit publish, tweet, Facebook share. Then rinse and repeat. Easy. Do it enough times and eventually you’ll become the much promised stuff of small business legend.

Except when you don’t.

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Albert Einstein

Having been lured onto the hamster wheel of blogging with the promise of more customers, happier clients, better social engagement … I’ll leave you to fill in the blanks, what do you on the days when it all feels a bit meh?

Because come on, be honest, we all have them. The meh days are one of the reasons why I quit regular blogging and started the magazine. What is it with this incessant need to churn out more content, more information, more noise?

What do you do on the days when you want to shout, “enough is enough, stop already!”

Regular readers will know that this was meant to be week three of the pillar content challenge. And it will be, just not today.

Today I have another one of my now infamous dares for you.

I dare you to stop.

Close the lid on your laptop or switch off your machine (right after you’ve finished reading this of course!) Grab your keys and go outside.

If you’re feeling very brave (and come on, we know that everyone here at Tycoon Blogger is the stuff of steel so go for it!) I even dare you to leave your phone at home. The chances of you falling and bumping your head and needing to call for emergency first aid are very slim.

What you do when you get outside if your call and will depend somewhat on personal preference, the weather and where in the world you live.

However.

Here’s the key … go outside and do something that you love.

Laugh. Smile. Stretch. Move. Live

Let the grass grow under your feet a little. Do stuff that creates memories and then use that stuff to fuel your next blog post. Tell stories. Stop with the hamster wheel blogging and remember why you started doing this in the first place.

Seriously. What are you still doing here?

You were waiting for the conclusion? Too bad. You are the conclusion …

Go out and live a little, write about it and then come back and leave a comment telling us where to find your latest epic installment (remember to use your real name, not a keyword, anything else just looks like yucky old spam!) I promise to personally come over to your place and read all about it.

Go on, what are you waiting for? I dare you!

6 motivational tips for new business owners

Becoming an entrepreneur can be the most rewarding action you will ever take. The feeling of freedom to do whatever you want can’t really be compared to anything. Not having to have a job (in the regular sense of the word), not having to work for The Man and be told what to do is great and a whole lot of fun.

But, of course, there are some downsides, too. You will have to be more disciplined, you will have to work more and harder (which is actually easier when you do what you like) and you’ll have a lot of obstacles and naysayers to overcome. So, to keep your spirit up, here are some tips, which will also help you make better business decisions:

You don’t have to be a master at everything. To become an entrepreneur and start your own company, you don’t have to be a master at everything that goes into the business. One area of expertise is more than enough, and you can (and will) always learn whatever else you need along the way. If you’re good at marketing, focus on that, and find other people that will work on the other parts of the business.

Focus on the positive, not the negative. Yes, there are tons of bad things happening every day when you run a business, and you will have to be responsible and take care of everything. But instead of thinking that everything is bad and whining about it, just focus on the positive side, because there’s always one in any situation. Your server is malfunctioning, your office landlord kicked you out and you just sold your car to maintain the business? How is that bad?! It only means you’ll finally get a new server, find a better place for your office, maybe closer to your home so you can buy a bike and drive it every day to work and back, working out at the same time!

Listen to other people, but make your own decisions. Other people will undoubtedly give you their advice, because from a side, your work always seems easier than it is. But you have to stop yourself from telling them to shove it :-) and actually listen to what they say. And not just act upon it, but get the good advice out and use it to make a better decision. Of course, if they offer nothing good at all, then you can just ignore them.

Give it all, because there is no trying. Unfortunately, when you start a business, there is only “Do” or “Do Not”, and there is no trying. If you don’t give your 100% and commit completely to the task, you’ll most likely fail or at best, become yet another mediocre company (which isn’t always bad, but it certainly isn’t what you probably envisioned). Make a plan, stick to it, dream big and make adjustments on the go – but always work and give it your best.

Don’t be afraid of anything. Fear paralyzes people. If you start being afraid of something, it will undoubtedly affect your reasoning, and that is always a bad thing. Your investors tell you that they want to take their money out of the company? Try to reason with them and in the meanwhile, search for others who are willing to invest. A competitor threatening to sue? Again, reason with them and cover all your bases – if you did everything by the law, you’ve got nothing to be afraid of, as a countersue will definitely make them back off or pay your expenses if they actually went on with the legal action.

Don’t give up until the end. If the situation seems dire, just keep working. Don’t just give up until the end is actually there. Usually, being in a tight spot with a company means you’re at the tipping point, and you’ll either succeed or fail completely, but that only means you have to continue working at 100%, and seeing what happens. Hey, what else are you gonna do?

Just try to remember the above advice any time you have a problem to solve, and remember that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it. You’ll be fine, as long as you don’t give up!

How to add flying Twitter bird to your blog

If you are reading this you probably just saw the little blue twitter bird fly by.  Go ahead and hover on it…Go ahead, I’ll wait.   Isn’t that cool?  You can follow me or tweet this post with a simple click.  I have had this twitter bird flying around my blog for less than 24 hours and I have already had 4 different people contact me and ask about it and where they can get it.

Fortunately for Wordpress bloggers, this twitter bird is available through the official plugin site.  The name of the plugin is Animated Twitter Bird .

The setup for this plugin is super easy.  In the settings page you enter your twitter name and then decide if you want to display your latest post or not.

I will be taking a close look at the results of this plugin and will report back and let you all know if there has been an increase in followers or tweets.  I am certainly hoping that is the case because I have noticed that my twitter follower count has leveled out over the past couple of months.  I am bot complaining though, because my Facebook likes have been going through the roof in the same time period.

What do you think about the flying twitter bird?  Cute or Annoying?  Do you think it will lead to a measurable increase in followers?

If you are looking for more Twitter followers – I personally recommend TweetAdder – click on the banner below to learn more:
