What do you like more – blog post or blog comments?

I have been taking my own advice lately and using some of the tips that I wrote about in my post entitled fast and easy blog post ideas.  The first tip that I mentioned was to share a blog that you like with your readers and this is what I will be blogging about today.

I don’t know about you but when I read blogs I often times enjoy the blog comments more that the actual content of the post.  The comment section is where you get to read about additional information and differing opinions on the blog topic.  It is also a great place to discover new blogs as well.  If I read a good comment, I usually click on the name and pay a visit to that blog and see what it is all about.  When I first started blogging several years back I only read the blog posts and then dropped my comment and went on my merry way.  As I have gained more experience as a blogger I know read the post and pay particularly close attention to each and every blog comment along the way.  In fact, I usually enjoy the comments more than the actual post.

That is why I thought it was so cool when I saw the new project that John Sullivan has started.  The new blog is called Comment Drop and it is a very cool and unique concept.

Basically, the focus of the blog is on the comments and not the post.  Each day a simple question is posted and then is opened up for discussion.  Of course, this is useful for link building as John is the self proclaimed Do Follow King, so you know the comments are do follow with keyword luv.

I will be visiting for the entertainment.

Stop on by and Drop your Comment!

Blog post wins over blog commenting. Comments (such as mine) are many times useless and written for the sake of it or to create some no follow links. God knows why people do it!!!

Blog posting is better than Blog commenting………

  3. Good question! Personally, I enjoy commenting on blogs rather than writing blogs. I like the thing wherein you get some little discussions in the comments section. i like interaction between the writer, might as well the other commentators.

The nice thing about comments is that it gives you another opinion. Comments, also open doors to new ideas and new post topics.

Good question. But for me blog posts are necessary. If it is not, then how will there be blog comments.

Great idea, but the site is a little hard to follow. I will look at it some more but, the site needs a better design.

As for me, I use to hate commenting, now I enjoy it. I like reading what others have to say and if they say something that like I will check out their site.

  20. Personally i always love blog post infact i have just started the act of commenting on blogs, that site looks cool, i will check it out and am sure it will be a great place to mix with other bloggers in your niche

  21. I like both, but the comments is where you get to laugh sometimes. When someone leaves a comment with a bit of humor then I just laugh.

Example is Extreme John when he posts about slut pics and you get some weird comments there.

  22. Very interesting, kind of reminds me of WhereIStand.com a site dedicated to questions and people answering with polls and custom opinions on topics.

I really like the concept, but I just feel that the layout and structure is really messy. I tried to get in and into the conversation but it just didn’t gel with me.
