Tweepme.com is a scam

Tweepme.com is a scam

Beware of Tweepme.com.  I am sure you have seen their ads, they are all over the place as they must be spending thousands of dollars per month on Adwords.  The basic pitch of the service is that you sign up for $10.95 and you will receive 4,000 new followers.  The way they explain the service is you fork over the money and they will do the rest.  Well, the rest is supposed to be connecting you with the other 4,000 members.  The premise being that you follow them and they will follow you back.  It sounded like a very straight forward service and I thought that it was a good deal, 4000 followers for $10 bucks.  I decided to sign up with my second (test) Twitter account.  Like most things on the Internet, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.  Here is what I got for my $10.95, 162 new followers.  I signed up on May 5th and there is nothing happening as a result of the service, it is like they moved on to some other suckers already.

It is the not the end of the world, as $10 will not make or break me, but I simply hate being taken for a ride.  Hopefully, I helped someone not get scammed by this service.

    John Chow has a nice system set up called twitterfollower it has worked for me.And I hate scams. It is 10.94 for each person they scam and everyone says the same its only 11 bucks. But the math adds up for their benefit.

    I never trust online services before properly investigating about it. For twitter I use online services like tweetlater, buzzom and fastfollowers..And Yes, Johnchow’s twitterfollower.

    Nothing other than that..

    Wow, thats kinda lame. I hadn’t actually heard of tweepme before your post, but believe me I’ll be avoiding it if it ever crosses my vision.

    I realize its not a lot of money or anything, but did you try to get a refund or communicate your disappointment to them at all?

  5. It happens automatically. But if you try to follow too many people when you get to 2000 your followers must be in balance with those you follow or you will be stopped from following until it rebalances.

    I added 2258 followers in exactly one week. it works.

  7. If you truly feel that tweepme is a scam, then I recommend that you block the various tweepme adds that adsense has been displaying on your blog.

  8. Gary,
    That is an impressive number and close to the amount that they advertise. I am curious, did you do anything sepcial or did it just happen automatically?

  10. @George- I have several Twitter accounts and the one I was using was t test out the service. I use that account to try all of the latest Twitter related services. I am wary to give up the password and I am keeping my @tycoonblogger account pure.

    @ExtremeJohn

    I am constantly testing different Twitter services (I review a few each week) and your right on point with this one. This service is a waste of $10, hardly the end of the world and hardly a way to get more customers.
