Top Blog Traffic Sources for 2009 on Tycoon Blogger

I am sure I am not the only blogger that is addicted to blog stats.  Earlier this year I wrote a post entitled “Addicted to blog stats? Promote your blog instead.”  After this post I refrained from checking my blog stats for an entire month and used my “extra” time to be more productive and concentrate on blog promotion.  That only lasted for a brief time and I am back to checking my stats several times a day.  Earlier today I took a look at my entire years stats for 2009 and I was a bit surprised at the traffic sources.  According to my analytics, my traffic came from 548 sources.  Here are my top 10…

  1. Adgitize – If you are not a member, you should check it out.
  2. Direct
  3. Google
  4. EntreCard
  5. Iamburaot.com
  6. StumbleUpon
  7. Twitter
  8. Digital Point Forums
  9. Ezine Articles
  10. Twittley

I also want to give a shout out to the top three referring blogs:

    Congrats, I get some visitors from SU, entrecard and google. I hope in 2010 I can increase my visitors from google search engine. I need to do lot of hard works for this, wish me luck :)

    lately i have been constantly looking at my stats to see how my site has improved, so far it did, unfortuanately last week i forgot to add the script of analytics on my headers when i changed theme.. it made my stats a flatline starting from that date… make me sick if i see those lines… :)

      @blog tactic- I do spend the $14 a month to advertise on Adgitize. The great part is that each month I am at or over $14 so it is virtually a wash and most times I make money. Basically, they are paying me to send me traffic.

    I mean traffic that is outside your family, from other sources. I have put my blog on the search engines, submitted to a directory, and started commenting on blogs that like with a similar theme, but so far no traffic. I would just like to hear others’ experiences. This is my first time blogging.

    Like to hear that you are getting highest traffic from adgitize. I have tried it, but do not work for me.

    My most traffic from google and them DP forum.

    Adgitize? I have never heard of it, but considering it get’s you more traffic than google, I think I am going to have to try and implement it on my blogs.

    Do you have an ebook? If yes, what is the traffic like from your ebook. Also, i see that you are receiving traffic from ezinearticles, i saw one prominent blogger said that it was not much valuable to post to ezines anymore, but you seem to have proved him wrong

    I, too, had not heard of Adgitize and have to figure out what that is all about. I do get a fair amount of traffic from Google. I also get some from other blogs. Virtually nothing from Digg or Stumbleupon though I don’t usually submit my own stuff.

    I a constant stats checker myself :) . It’s a habit I find it hard to break out of the habit as well I must confess..
    Anyway I just wanted to say I found your top 10 traffic sources list quite fascinating. Adgitize I haven’t heard of before. Will definitely have to check that out.
