you add it to the root folder of your webserver

All the sites I make now I use Favicons for. I never used to bother, but now always use them. They make a site standout in the Bookmarks and when people see your image again, they are more likely to return to your site.

They may be small, but IMo I think their worth it.

I like your favicon, looks really good. I have had mine for sometime now and it’s nothing special, I’m thinking of changing it.

Wish this had come a bit earlier — I had a lot of trouble getting my favicon to work earlier. Nonetheless, good post — this should help many others!
