I picked the absolute worst time to start a money making blog project, or maybe not. There are mixed opinions on this recession and how it impacts bloggers. Some people say that as more and more people stay at home they will be turning to the Internet for entertainment. On the flip side, ad rates are way down and adsense is paying less than it used to.
Here are some tips that could help you during the recession and have you on top when the recession is over.
- If you have one good blog, why not start another? This can help you double your earnings capacity. Including this blog, I own 4 others.
- Freelance writing- This is a great way to expand your reach and make some additional money. I currently have a thriving content writing company ( http://JuicyContent.com) where I write blog articles and other content for webmasters. Currently, I am writing about Insurance and RV’s.
- Write a book. Seriously, if you are an expert on a subject why not write an ebook. You can sell it for money or give it away and gain the backlinks and traffic that will come from the effort.
- Try something else online. Have you ever wanted to start a forum or a directory or domaining. Similar to blogging these take a lot of time, devotion and marketing, but if done successfully can resulting good money down the road. I have started to dabble in all three of those areas. I have a forum up and running http://teenmovement.com (on the back burner right now, but gaining age and slowly building links) I have started several directories in the last month http://submitmyblog.com and http://dofollowmovement.com and I have started building up my domain portfolio, I blog about it at http://domainpic.com
Remember that recessions are only temporary. This too shall pass.
Sorry for so many comments, but I find your blogs content almost addicting. I must say on this post you are wrong. You say this is not the appropriate time to start a blog about making money, but if you think about it the time could not be better. There are alot of people out there out of a job, don’t you think they will be looking online? My friend you are in the correct industry, I can’t believe you have a job website as well I mean that is a double hitter. I actually began my website and one of my blogs because their was a recession I wanted to help people make money without getting scammed. <<lol that is the name of my blog. Anyway keep up the work and I am sure you will see great returns the only reason that this is a bad time to make money is there will be a large growth of people attempting to make money online and as long as you get on and get ahead of the game you will be on top and make a ton of money. Anyway keep up the good work.
