I am sure you have experienced some days where you are stuck for ideas on what to blog about. On the other hand, you may have a whole notebook of ideas, but may not have the time or mental capacity to write an in-depth piece. No worries, here is a list of 10 very easy to write blog posts. After a long week, I was burnt and although I have dozens of topics to write about, I did not have the energy for a “research piece” or pillar type article. This is why I decided to craft a list of 10 easy ideas to blog about. I am using one of my ideas below and creating a list, which is one of the easiest blog posts to create. In addition, lists tend to be among the most popular type of blog posts and serve as link bait. They also do well on Twitter and social bookmarking sites. I am sure you have heard of some of these, but I am pretty sure there are a couple fresh ideas that can help you out as well.
Check your comments
Your comment section is a treasure trove of inspiration. Chances are there will be questions you can answer in the form of a blog post so all of your readers will benefit. It can also be a cool idea to write a pot about the best blog comments for the month, you can tie this into a top commentors post as well.
Make a list
I am using this one right now. Everyone loves lists and the subjects are limitless. Here are some ideas: Top Bloggers you have never heard of, or Top 10 Blog Designs..
Interview someone
I always enjoy reading these types of interviews and they are fairly easy to write. The hardest part is usually tracking the person down. I have found that using Twitter is a real easy way to catch up with someone and it is a pretty cool way to conduct an interview. If you are stuck for someone to interview, I am always available.
Blog Review
Write 250 words about one of your favorite blogs that you visit. This is easy and you will be doing your readers a service to introducing them to a new blogger and you will be hooking up the blogger with some link love
Give link love
Another easy post idea is to highlight your top commentors and link to their site. If you are on Entrecard, you can write a post about your top droppers and give some links. Another idea is to do a weekly roundup where you link to the best blog posts around the blogosphere. You can thank some of your Twitter followers for retweeting your tweets or for the followfriday love. There are tons of ways that you can link to others and it makes a useful and easy blog post.
Share a contest
Let your readers know about a blog contest that is going on. I know I like to be informed about chances to win cash.
What plugins are you using?
This is one of the easiest posts to write. You simply list the plugins you are using and a brief explanation of what it does. I know I have found some very useful new plugins by reading these types of posts.
Ask a question on Twitter
Twitter is good for traffic but it can also be good for content. I wrote a post about this last month if you want to check it out.
Check out Google Wonder wheel
I got this tip from Nicolas Prudhon. This is a great way to check out what you should be blogging about to rank high for your keywords. This will show you dozens of topics to blog about. Pick one, write 300 words about it, optimize the title and you will be good to go.
Talk about your blog
Write a blog post about your stats. This is usually good to do once a month. You can write about your visitors, Alexa rank, page rank, sources of traffic, number of comments, adsense earnings, other money earned from your blog, etc..

These are great tips! I know a lot of bloggers are confused and even I sometimes ask myself that if I start a blog, what would I keep writing on regular basis and how will I get quality content. Your ideas are good and it helps build bonds strong between a blogger and readers.

Hi, thanks for great ideas about bloging. Keywordluv is good plugin to know both the name and key word. The comment luv and keyword luv are definitely great plug-ins and services.There is no doubt that KeywordLuv is very helpful. We’ve been using it for a while now and are always recommending.
I know what you mean, it can be difficult to know what to blog about – those tips are helpful. Sometimes its worth getting a guest article, pre-writing a few blog entries for those times when you just can be bothered or paying someone to do it for you!

Your post is quite informative. It is true ideas may get exhausted in about a few months; thus leaving the blog with no updates. It might put the future of the blog in jeopardy. I think googling the topic would give one some respite. One may read the articles and write a researched piece of their own. Try ezine!

1) Look at what you did same time last year, chances are it will be seasonal so you can do the same topic again.
2) Check your stats for most visited content and do something along the same lines.

I’ve always found the news and talk back radio to be a good source of information. If you pick the right topic that is currently in the news, and then choose the right title, and keyword tags you are bound to get a lot of hits.

I hadn’t heard about Google Wonder Wheel before – will have to check that out. Bottom line is that consistently coming up with quality posts is not easy. I think it’s better to post less frequently rather than push out junk just because you feel compelled to keep the blog ticking over. But I know the gurus out there mostly advocate otherwise.
